Monika was born and raised in Warsaw, Poland.
Her love for movement began with her first ballroom dance class at the age of 12. What started as a childhood curiosity quickly grew into a lifelong passion and career. Over the years, Monika competed successfully in dance competitions around the world, developing a deep understanding of the dedication, discipline, and artistry required to perform at an elite level. Alongside her competitive career, she has shared her expertise by teaching ballroom dance to hundreds of students of all ages and experience levels, from beginners to seasoned dancers.
In 2021, driven by a desire to deepen her own practice and explore new ways of moving, Monika began her study of the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM®. This method profoundly changed not only her dance technique and body mechanics but also her overall relationship with movement. Through this practice, she found lasting relief from chronic neck and lower back pain—an experience that underscored for her the healing and transformative potential of mindful movement.
Today, Monika is passionate about guiding her students—whether they are new to movement or seasoned athletes—toward a greater sense of embodiment, ease, and balance. She uses the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® method to help people move more freely, restore natural mobility, and rediscover joy in their bodies. Her teaching emphasizes harmony, flow, and precision, always meeting students where they are and supporting them in achieving their personal goals.
In addition to working with the general population, Monika has extensive experience training high-level athletes across various disciplines. She understands the unique demands and pressures faced by competitive performers and tailors her sessions to enhance athletic performance, prevent injury, and support recovery. Her work with athletes focuses on building functional strength, improving flexibility, and cultivating deeper body awareness—all essential elements for sustained success at the highest levels of sport and dance.
Monika offers both in-person and online sessions, making her teaching accessible to clients worldwide. She regularly leads online GYROKINESIS® classes, providing a dynamic, mat-based experience that supports spinal health, full-body integration, and a sense of openness and vitality.
Monika’s mission is to empower every person she works with to feel stronger, more resilient, and more connected to themselves through movement.
Artur Kozun is a former professional ballroom dancer with a career-high ranking of world No. 42, achieved at the Blackpool Dance Festival in 2022. He was ranked Poland No. 1 in 2013 in the 10-dance division.
Artur has been studying and practicing ballroom dancing nonstop since 1996.
He started his teaching career in 2009. He elevated two of his students from novice level to U.S. National Championship titles and one student from beginner level to a Blackpool Dance Festival bronze medal in the Pro-Am Division.
Simultaneously with his dance career, Artur continued his formal education. In 2013, he graduated from Lodz University of Technology in Poland with a Master’s Degree in Management and Production Engineering. In 2017, after completing his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, he moved to the USA to continue his dance career.
After retiring from professional competitions in May 2024, Artur intensified his research on biomechanics, kinetics, kinesiology, gait analysis, efficiency of human movement, and mental preparation for athletes and dancers. Since 2022, Artur has been extensively working on human movement analysis software, backed by computer vision, specifically the pose estimation algorithm.
As part of his conditioning for ballroom dancing, Artur obtained foundational training in ballet and jazz. From 2016 to 2021, he studied Rudolf Laban’s Effort-Shape and Labanotation and their application to ballroom dancing. One of the outcomes of this project was the translation of the book Latin: Thinking, Sensing, and Doing in Latin American Dancing by Ruud Vermey, which was officially published in Polish in 2021.
As a lifelong learner, he enjoys visiting GYROTONIC® studios in various countries and taking classes from Master Trainers.
Artur is a great fan of tennis and golf. He loves spending time with his family at the fruit farm in Poland, where he grew up. He rests best while lying on the beach by the ocean and listening to the sound of the waves.
